What is a Mastiff ?
A Mastiff is a giant breed of dog, the breed originated in England. Also referred
to English Mastiffs. They are very large dogs, Fawn, Apricot, and Brindle in color
with black masks and ears.
How big do Mastiffs get ?
Males can weigh 150 pounds to 250 pounds. Height 30 inches or taller.
Females can weigh 100 pounds to 200 pounds. Height 28 inches or taller.
How much do Mastiffs eat ?
They eat a lot. The first 18 months they eat more because they are growing
so much. It's very important not to over feed. They need to stay lean during
their growing stages so there less weight on their growing joints. They eat
anywhere from 8 - 15 cups of kibble a day. When they reach maturity they
eat less, 4 - 8 cups a day.
How long do they live ?
An average life span for a mastiff is 8 - 12 years.
What are there Major Health Issues ?
Mastiffs are about average when it comes to hereditary health problems.
Being a large breed they are very prone to joint problems.

Mastiffs do snore. Some are very loud when they are sleeping. Some are louder then others.
Are Mastiffs Good with Children ?
Mastiffs are gentle and protective if they are raised together. They are very
good with children. Sometimes they do forget how big they are and try to sit
in your childs lap. They are truely gentle giants.
